Rodney Alexander is the founder of a fashion company called Genuine Quality Styles (G.Q.S) which designs, manufactures, retails, wholesales, and customizes garments with the trade mark Rodney Alexander designs.

We specialize in unique ethnic wearable artistic designs with a Caribbean flavor. We cater for working professionals both male & female who have the desire to look different.

Rodney has participated in several fashion shows locally, regionally and in the USA. We are frequent participants in the Trinidad & Tobago Fashion Week, Jazz Festival, Caribbean gift & craft show, The Trinidad & Tobago Association of Washington DC fashion show and the Guyana fashion week to name a few.

We take both wholesale as well as retail orders.

History

Rodney Alexander is a certified garment manufacturer and designer. After obtaining a certificate in style, design, pattern making and garment construction from John Donaldson Technical Institute in 1995, he founded the well known garment manufacturing company, Genuine Quality Styles (G.Q.S).

The initial establishment was located in the People's Mall in Port of Spain. In 1996 the operations moved to Milford Road, Scarborough Tobago. Here, we blossomed from being a simple unisex fashion boutique to specializing in designing and making customized garments for special occasions,ethnic designs.

In 1999 the business was registered and by January 2008, a second operation was set up in Trinidad to capture the demand of the growing market by which time the trade mark Rodney Alexander design was introduced which added geometric patterns to the garments.

He is the 2006 recipient of the NEDCO, Apex Award for Fashion & Design, and also the Garment Manufacturing Award from the Tobago House of Assembly.
